Liz Kirchner, Lancashire UK - Brian Parr

Liz Kirchner lives in northwest England. She writes magazine feature articles about food and drink... Cheese-making in Scotland's Arran Isles, for instance, wine-tasting and badger viewing in Wales, and the increasing interest in almost forgotten Lancashire heritage apple varieties with names like the Bloody Ploughman or Lancashire Lady Fingers that are tracked down on ancient maps by volunteer searchers, and found huddled and alone in the walled gardens of ruined great houses.

She like to hike the UK talking to people about landscape tradition like wassailing,hedge-laying, or the best way to make damson gin.

In her spare time, she edits biological and environmental sciences proposals for a small non-profit organization in Washington, DC.
